How can I help at home?
There are lots of simple things you can do at home to help your child learn to read.
- Learn how to say the sounds by watching the videos on the EYFS page
- Use flashcards to help your child learn how to blend sounds to read words.
- Read together every day, even for just ten minutes. Currently all children bring home a reading book that is carefully selected to match their phonic knowledge or reading level.
- Encourage children to sound talk when they come across a difficult words.
- Make sure that they attend school every day as this will help your child to make the most progress.
