Welcome to Remote Learning

Welcome to our remote learning page.

During this current lockdown all of our teachers will be setting work via TEAMs. All of the children have been given an individual log-in for this.

Within each of the class TEAMs there will be videos that the children must watch prior to them doing their work. This will be the format for English, phonics/spelling and Maths.

For other curriculum areas the children will be set weekly challenges that will involve different activities, such as research, creating a design or piece of art-work.

Once your child has completed their work they can either submit this via TEAMs or email it to the relevant teacher.

The teacher will provide feedback for all work submitted.

In addition to the work set via TEAMs we expect children to access TTRockstars, reading via Rising stars and reading comprehension via Lexia. Your child should have all of their log in details for these too.

As a school we have put together our expectations for the children. You will find this with the letters section of our website and on their class page too.

For more specific information for each year group please go to the relevant class page on our school website. On the class webpages you will find contact details for the relevant teachers too.

Don't forget to checkout the parent letters section for all information and updates sent out during this lockdown.

We know that remote learning requires children having access to a suitable device and the internet. If this is a concern or issue for you, as a family, please contact the school office to discuss how we can support you.

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly, if you are unsure of anything or require further information.

Mental Health and Well-Being

At Birklands Primary School we know it is important to have and develop a positive well-being.

In times such as this, it ca be a challenge to stay positive and look after all aspects of yourself. To support our children and families we have put together a list of free resources and activities that you can access.

Along with the list do not forget that Birklands is part of the Take five project. This project has involved teaching our children breathing exercises, with the aim of building resilience, developing a positive well-being and having strategies to calm ourselves down when we feel anxious. Get the children to use these exercises when at home and teach them to all family members too.
