Summer 2
Week 1:
In Geography we are starting our brand new Topic...Nottingham to Naples! We thought of ways to help us find The United Kingdom and Italy. The resources we came up with were an Atlas, the globes and Google Earth! We were also able to identify the different Continents and Oceans too!
Week 2:
Previously in maths, we have looked at number lines to 20. This week, we challenged ourselves...numbers to 100! Some of us decided to count in 10's to 100. Some of us attempted to count past 100. In Geography, we were looking at maps decided to create our own maps of the EYFS playground. We found it very strange to not need to draw the whole of the object, only the top...do you know why?
Week 3:
Pounds and Pence...this week is all about Money! Swift have been looking at coins and notes and trying to distinguish the differences and similarities. We challenged ourselves by asking 'how many ways can we make £5 using coins?' and 'how much change would I get from £10 if a sweet cost £2?'.
Week 4:
The sun is shining, and Swift are beaming through the week with many fun filled days!
Who wants to become a collector? Alpha and Norton do! We have started our new book this week in English and we are trying to predict what Alpha and Norton enjoy collecting...would you like to have a guess?
Drip, Splash and Flick...we have been learning all about Jackson Pollock in Art this week. We were able to showcase our amazing skills to our parents and carers who came in to support our learning for Bring Your Grown Ups!
We also had a super time at Clumber Park on Thursday, where we used our orienteering skills to take us throughout the park, we caught some fascinating insects and explored the vast variety of fruit and vegetables!
