Primary Steps Programme

This autumn we are excited to confirm our school is one of 28 primary schools around England to be working in partnership with The Royal Ballet School’s Primary Steps Programme. Specialist teachers from this world-famous organisation will be visiting our school delivering a unique educational experience through five weeks of creative ballet workshops for all Year 3 students beginning on Tuesday 17th September.

As well as the workshops, Year 3 students will have the chance to watch primary and secondary students from The Royal Ballet School perform a Ballet Class Demonstration and we guarantee they will be inspired at first hand by the focus, discipline and talent of these young dancers.

The Royal Ballet School’s mission is to nurture, train and educate exceptional young dancers from all backgrounds for the Royal Ballet companies, and other leading UK and international companies.

The Primary Steps Programme is where it all begins, offering an engaging introduction to ballet both as an art form and a physical discipline and we hope that many of our Year 3 students will want to continue dancing through the Primary Steps Programme run locally, or in other ways.
