Recognising Good Attendance
At Birklands Primary School, we recognise the importance of good attendance and the positive impact it has on children’s learning, wellbeing, and achievement. We celebrate regular attendance in a variety of ways throughout the year:
Class Attendance Reward
Each week, the class with the highest attendance earns a non-uniform day for the following week. This encourages teamwork and helps children understand the importance of attending school every day.
100% Attendance Awards
At the end of each term, pupils who achieve 100% attendance receive a certificate to recognise their commitment. We also provide additional rewards and treats, such as visits from the ice cream van, to celebrate their achievement.
Family Friday Night Treat Draw
At various points throughout the school year, all children who achieve 100% attendance for the week are entered into a prize draw. One lucky winner is selected to receive a £10 Co-op voucher to enjoy a Friday night treat with their family. This reward recognises the vital role that parents and carers play in supporting good attendance.
