What a busy Spring term we have had! We have acted out Jewish and Christian stories in RE, and brought our toys and teddies into school for our History unit. We designed and made our own moving toys. In Geography we learnt about continents and oceans of the world, and then discovered where cocoa beans grow and how a chocolate bar ends up in a shop near us. The Science focus was on plants, and we grew beans and cress to discover what seeds need to germinate and what plants need to grow and stay healthy. We studied Van Gogh’s artwork and made our own paintings of sunflowers.
In Maths we have learnt about different measurements: height, length, mass and capacity. We have also explored multiplication, division and fractions in a variety of practical lessons.
In English we enjoyed Errol’s Garden and On Sudden Hill, writing instructions and a diary of a seed. We loved the non-fiction text Big Book of the Rainforest and created our own non-chronological report. We discovered The Easter Story and wrote letters to our local church warden to thank him and his wife for attending our Easter Service.
