There’s a real buzz in the air across our school at the moment—and it’s all down to the incredible enthusiasm and effort our children are showing in their learning!

Classrooms are full of energy, curiosity, and a real sense of purpose. Whether they’re diving into new topics, tackling challenges, or working together to solve problems, our pupils are truly embracing every opportunity to learn and grow.

It’s been a joy to see the smiles, hear the thoughtful questions, and feel the excitement building as they discover new things. From our youngest learners to our oldest, there is a shared sense of pride in their hard work and a real love for learning.

A huge well done to all our children for showing such fantastic focus, creativity, and joy in their learning—you make our school a very special place to be.

Kindness and Congratulations from Kingfisher Class

A big well done to Kingfisher Class this week for achieving 100% attendance—what a fantastic achievement!

Even more impressive is the kindness and maturity they’ve shown. Kingfisher Class generously offered their well-earned non-uniform day to Jay Class, knowing how much it would be appreciated. What a thoughtful gesture!

Kingfisher still got to enjoy their non-uniform day today as a well-deserved treat following their SATs, and with their residential trip next week, they’ve truly shown both hard work and heart.

Jay Class—Miss Lounds will let you know which day next week will be your special non-uniform day!

Well done, Kingfisher—you’ve made us proud in more ways than one.

We’d like to apologise for the change of date for this year’s Sports Day. The new date will now be Friday 27th June. We hope this notice gives families enough time to adjust plans and we thank you for your understanding.

We’re also pleased to share that this year, our Nursery children will be joining the main Sports Day event, rather than holding a separate one on the Nursery playground. We’re excited for them to be part of the celebration and look forward to a fun and active event for all!

We are excited to share some extra information with you regarding this year’s Sports Day. All parents and carers are invited to come and support their child. More information about the organisation of the day, what the children will need to wear etc. will be shared over the coming weeks. We wanted to give you as much notice as possible so that provisions can be made for you to attend and support your child. We hope that by having all Key Stages participating on the same day, it will be more convenient for parents/carers to attend.

We look forward to sharing more information with you over the coming weeks.

It was a real pleasure to receive an email all about Harper in Year 1.  From acting to football she is a very talented person!

Harper has been training with Voices of the Vale since she could barely walk. It has been an absolute honour to watch her grow and develop during this time.
Harper has achieved so much, particularly during the past year, including passing her first dance exams and knocking audiences off of their feet and melting hearts in both our 2024 show and our recent production of Matilda, where she landed the roles of Young Miss Honey.

Harper is a beautiful singer and a gorgeous little dancer, but during the last few months of Matilda we have really started to see how impressive her acting skills are too.

When we first tried Harper in the role of Young Miss Honey, and she had the Trunchbull shouting and pointing at her, I genuinely thought she was terrified, but it turns out that was just her incredible acting skills coming into play . She never wavered with that "scaredy face".

On a side note to VOTV, Harper Also plays for Meden Vale Colts Football Club , she had a match on Sunday morning where she got "Girl of the match" and was still able to head straight to the theatre to smash two sold out shows!

This triple threat little girl is absolutely going to be one to watch in the coming years. I can certainly picture her taking on some pretty big roles in the future.

Congratulations Harper.

We’d like to give a special shout out to Mrs Hill, one of our dedicated carers and our very own green-fingered superstar! She has been working tirelessly with our children to transform our outdoor areas into vibrant, welcoming spaces.

Despite the challenge of limited green space, their enthusiasm and hard work are bringing about a wonderful transformation. To support this project, we would greatly appreciate any donations of gardening equipment or supplies—big or small!

If you have any spare tools, pots, soil, plants, or anything else that could help, please get in touch with the school office. Thank you for helping us grow something great!

Come Join Us for a Coffee and a Chat!

You're warmly invited to our relaxed coffee afternoon — a friendly space to meet other parents and carers, connect with professionals from external agencies, and have an informal chat with Miss Scrivener (SENDCo).

Whether you're the parent or carer of a child with SEND needs, feeling unsure about upcoming transitions, or simply looking for some support and advice — we’re here for you.

Let’s talk, share ideas, and support each other over a cup of something warm. Everyone is welcome!

This week, our Year 6 pupils have shown an exceptional level of determination, focus, and maturity. From the moment they arrived each morning, they approached every challenge with resilience and a positive attitude that made us all proud.

Whether it was in the quiet moments of concentration or the encouragement they gave to one another, they have truly embodied the values we hold dear at our school. Their hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed.

We want every single child to know this: we are incredibly proud of you—not just for what you’ve done this week, but for the effort, growth, and perseverance you’ve shown throughout your time with us. Whatever the outcome, you have already achieved something special.

Well done, Year 6!

A Special Visit from Our Chair of Governors

Today, our Chair of Governors, Mr Street, paid a special visit to Year 6 to recognise their tremendous effort and resilience, particularly following their recent SATs.

Mr Street spoke to the children about how proud he—and the whole school community—is of their hard work, positive attitude, and determination. As a token of his appreciation, he even brought along a special treat for them to enjoy!

Thank you, Mr Street, for your continued support—and well done, Year 6! You’ve truly earned it.

And the Rewards Didn't Stop There!

As if Mr Street’s kind gesture wasn’t enough, Year 6 were treated to a surprise visit from the ice cream van this afternoon! After all their hard work and focus, it was the perfect way to celebrate and cool down in the sunshine.

There were plenty of smiles (and sprinkles!) as the children enjoyed a well-deserved treat with their friends.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make today so special for our fantastic Year 6s!

Reminder: scaffolding is going up this weekend for the new roof.

We’re delighted to share the wonderful news that Miss Scrivener is expecting a baby, due in September! While this means she won’t be returning for the next academic year, we know you’ll join us in wishing her all the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter.

In her absence, we’re pleased to announce that Mrs Henderson will be stepping into the role of SENDCo. With her experience and dedication, we know our children and families will continue to receive the excellent support they deserve.

Congratulations, Miss Scrivener – we can’t wait to meet your little one!

On 8th May (VE Day 80), both Max Gilberthorpe and Erica Stephenson were chosen to represent Warsop 2nd Cubs to perform a bible reading to mark this momentous occasion. They were both amazing. They stood in front of a packed church and read in a confident, clear and concise manner. They behaved impeccably and were so respectful of the occasion. I think you would have been as proud as I was.

This week in EYFS, we’ve been exploring the book Clem and Crab. On Wednesday, we had a thoughtful discussion about ocean pollution and the importance of caring for our environment. The children put themselves in Clem’s shoes, imagining what she might be thinking as she arrived at a beach covered in litter. They each created a thought bubble to capture her feelings and reactions. Nellie and Albie produced some fantastic independent writing and were proud to share their ideas with the class. Well done, Nellie and Albie – keep up the amazing work!

Football Stars in the Making!

Well done to Finn, Ryder, Tommy, and Nate, who attended their football presentation together! The boys, along with their families, were proud to share some fantastic photos from the event—and rightly so!

They’ve had a brilliant run, winning both of their matches this weekend and last, and are feeling extremely proud of their teamwork and determination. What a great example of commitment and sportsmanship.

We’re proud of you too, boys—keep it up!

We are incredibly proud to share that Erin has had an emotive and beautifully written poem published in a recently released poetry anthology. This is a remarkable achievement that reflects both her creative talent and her dedication to the craft of writing.

Having a poem selected for publication is no small feat, and Erin’s success is a wonderful inspiration to her peers. We look forward to seeing where her literary journey takes her next!

Well done, Erin!

We’re thrilled to share that several of our talented Year 4 and 5 pupils have been successful in the Young Writers' Wonderverse poetry competition. Their amazing poems will be published in an upcoming book – a huge well done to them all! Watch this space for more details once the book is released.

We are incredibly proud of the determination and high aspirations our pupils are showing across the school.

In particular, we’d like to celebrate some fantastic achievements:

Our Year 5 students who are already scoring 100% on Year 6 test papers—a truly impressive sign of their hard work and readiness for the challenges ahead.

And our brilliant Year 3 pupils who are achieving 100% on the Year 4 Multiplication Check—a remarkable accomplishment for learners a whole year ahead of the expectation!

These successes are a testament to the focus, perseverance, and ambition of our children. Keep aiming high—you’re showing us all what’s possible!
