Science Week - wc 17th September

This week we have loved completing our superhero science experiments in Nursery.

  • We used tweezers to pull off the evil villains magnetic hair.

  • We thought about what makes a superhero healthy and tried different fruits.

  • We used magnets to move our superheroes along the maze.

  • We had to think how to save superheroes from ice.

  • We looked at which materials float and sink in order to make a superhero boat.

  • We had to find out which of the copper coins the evil villains stole are magnetic.

Superkid -wc 24th September

This week we have been reading Superkid by Claire Freedman. We have thought about which super powers we would have if we were Superkid. We have been busy counting superheroes, baking superhero biscuits and making superhero masks.

Supertato - wc 1st October

This week we have been reading Supertato by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. We have been very busy in Nursery this week. We have been retelling the story using vegetables, mashing evil peas, painting with vegetables and counting potatoes. In group times, we have been busy counting spots and finding the matching numerals to unlock the vegetables. We have created our own Supertato characters as well as practicing our cutting skills.

Spiderman - wc 8th October

This week we have been learning about Spiderman. Again we have had a busy week in Nursery. We have been using spaghetti to create webs and using tweezers to collect spiders off the web. In literacy we have been focusing on our pencil control by following spider lines and copying letters. In maths we have been comparing heights and weights. We have also been making spider webs by cutting and threading and wax painting.
