Over the past few days it has been very warm and sunny. We have talked about the weather and we now know how to stay safe in the sun. We have made shaded areas outside using material that some children have made into dens. The children loved having an ice cream under the canopy as an end of term treat - Thank you Mr Cohen!
As the weather continues to be warm please ensure that your child has a sun hat and is wearing sun cream. All children have their own water bottles in school and we will ensure that they stay hydrated throughout the session.
Growing & Changes
Over the past few weeks we have been very excited our some new arrivals in our unit. We have been given the job of caring for 5 tadpoles. We have been watching them grow everyday and last week they became froglets. We have learnt about the life-cycle of frogs and researched how to care for them. We are looking forward to releasing them into the wild.
Children have been talking about the colour of our frogs. Some children explained that the frog is 'camouflaged' on the rock.
All children were invited to dress up as their favourite superhero for the day. We invited parents to join us in a Superhero themed Stay & Play session.
We played with Princess castles and built Kingdoms for ponies to explore.
Even Superheroes need snack time!
Sharing Superhero themed stories.
We were busy in the writing area, making lists of our favourite superheros.
International Day - Albania
We had fun learning about Albania, we invited our parents into school to share the day with us. Here are some of the activities we enjoyed in our classroom.
Mrs Zhuta enjoyed telling us about traditions in Albania. We looked at pictures and learnt Albanian words.
We learnt Albanian dances and we were fabulous at scarf dancing.
Look at this amazing Albanian flag, we used cotton buds to paint our pictures.
As always, we loved trying new foods. We dipped bread in honey and Greek yogurt, tried new fruits and loved sampling a traditional Albanian cake.
This term we are learning about Superheroes.
We had fun learning about their special powers and we spoke about what powers we would like to have.
Some children had great fun dressing up as their favorite character and we are working hard to be able to put our own dressing up costumes on independently.
We were shocked to discover some ice balloons in the water tray, the children were excited to see that some superhero figures had been trapped inside. We worked together to try and help the superheroes escape. The children has some amazing ideas.
